John Cooper Challenge Castle Combe Race Meet 26 May 2003
Apple went to Castle Combe and attended her first John Cooper Challenge (JCC) event of 2003.
It was great to see that AndyW, Racer and Speedster, regulars on MINI2, got the JCC bug again this year, and returned along with quite a few of last year's other JCCers.
The weather was excellent, not a drop of rain in sight; indeed, quite a few people were sunburnt! Why can't all MINI2 meets have weather like that?
There were many MINIs about, and DK went around to place an Apple logo-bug under the windscreen wipers of as many MINIs as she could find in the car parks between the Paddock and Quarry Corner. Hopefully, MINI2 will have even more users soon.
The race itself was not without drama. Poor Speedster spun off and incurred so much damage to his car, that he could not finish the race. Luckily, he was unhurt. Better luck next time, Speedster!
An excellent result for Racer, who came 2nd, and very good result too for AndyW, who finished 6th.
Now if anyone out there thinks Apple is 'loud', then they should take a look at Racer's car, which is affectionately known as Kermit! You are only supposed to lime-green the roof, Racer!
All in all, a good day out! Here are a few pictures from the day.
Please visit the John Cooper website for more information about the John Cooper Challenge.
