John Cooper Challenge Silverstone 28 Jul 2002

Apple, DK and Mr DK joined other MINI2ers to support the first race meet of the John Cooper Challenge for new MINIs, especially to cheer the 4 Challengers who are regulars on MINI2 (namely AndyW, LizzieB, Speedster and Racer).

Apple joined timlowden771, Ginger and Neil Curtis and Neil's Missus in a 4-car convoy from the East, and met up with the others at Cherwell Valley Services just off Junction 10 of M40. Listed below were the MINI2ers who attended this meet, whose usernames DK could recall (in no particular order):

It was DK and Mr DK's first race meeting, and it was certainly an interesting experience. The smell of burning rubber was not exactly pleasant! MINI2ers were allowed to go into the designated paddock for JCCers and admired the 24 JCC cars that took part in the day's race. The race was eventually won by the current leader, Steven Meli. Racer finished ahead of Speedster and AndyW (exact positions not noted by DK or Mr DK, please visit the JCW website for official report, and Championship Points Table etc.). Bad luck LizzieB who sped off the track towards the end of the race.

The weather was good for a change! Here are a few pictures taken on the day of the meet. Oops - no people shots again!
