Mini In The Park 18 August 2002
What a scorcher! All MINI2ers who attended the MITP event at Cornbury Park could not have asked for better weather, with the exception of DK and Mr DK perhaps who could have done with the temperature being a few degrees lower. The sky did threaten to ruin a marvellous day. Luckily only a few drops of rain fell during the entire day. Thanks to R50 who organised the event. A big thank you to everyone (especially to felix) who had brought things along to make the picnic a great success with no reported upset stomach!
One could hear the MINI2ers gasp when Paul_Mullett, during a live radio interview in a field full of Minis, mentioned something about MINIs being more reliable!!! Loads of people visited the MINI2 stand, and a non-MINI2er's Electric Blue Cooper S joined the stand half way through the show so that it could feel more "at home". Hopefully, MINI2 will have lots more members after MITP.
Quite a few of the "usual suspects" of MINI2 attended this event, and extended in person a big welcome to Paul Simonds, kristina ellis, Mrk9p and Jester. Unfortunately DK and Apple missed Cinimod by a cat's whisker - better luck next time! Here is a selection of photographs taken on the day - with more emphasis on people this time!
A MINI is not just a car - it is a way of life!
