DK's BBQ Marinade

Makes approximately 400ml

Measurements given should be used as rough guides only!

Blend the following together in a blender until gloopy:

1 x 200g tube/tin of tomato purée

1 generous glug of Chinese rice wine or dry sherry

1 large glug of light soya sauce

1 large glug of Worcestershire sauce

1 glug of oil (not olive oil)

Juice of 1 lemon

4 large spoonsful of honey

A very large pinch of Chinese 5-spice powder

A very large pinch of ground black pepper

A lump of ginger, approximately 2.5cm long

3 large cloves of garlic (or to your taste)

5 small dried red chillies (or to your taste, fresh chillies can be used as substitute)

2 large spring onions (use whole except the very end with roots)

A generous handful of fresh parsley
